Climate Changes

Climate Changes
Stormy weather or a darkness in the arts.

First, ask yourself "how aware do I feel?"  Second, How do I make positive changes to impact our world?

Firestorm, September 2020

Up in the air, Quick a fire whirl!?
Sincerely 2020- "No that's a Firestorm!"

A desolate existence of stark horizons on the West Coast of Cascadia & Australia... and... are you aware about the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone fires in April 2020? (Thank you firefighting heroes, NASA & science)

Dystopian suns peaked in a crimson fury as we ritualized summer rains to be our savior.  My heart goes out to all those suffocating in our new annual realities.  Blessings of rain and clean airways.

 The Big Thaw- August 2020

Picture
Milne Ice Shelf, Ellesmere Island Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut
Ice to meet you. Glowing hearts aside "The Big Thaw" captures current climate challenges of enormous concern on our Northern Canadian coastline.

I dedicate this piece in my climate change series to the last fully intact glacier ice shelf in Canada once located on Ellesmere Island, Nunavut. Sadly no more after crashing into the ocean this past July. Only two days later on August 2, 2020 - 40% of all the ice in the surrounding waters had completed vanished from the once intact Milne Ice Shelf. Flash flood 4,000 years later to 2020 floating hopelessly for survival. In perspective that's 7.5 Square KMs in less than 48 hours melted away, rising the sea! Imagine if Stanley Park or an area 50% larger than Manhattan disappeared in under two days!

The bold array of colors I chose for this painting represents the rapid rise of permafrost melting away forever. As a result the heated seawaters purge the ice warmed by days of suns. A pursuit over the edge.
