Locally known as Sharks Cove - Pūpūkea is a community and census-designated place in the Koʻolauloa District on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaii, United States. In Hawaiian, Pūpūkea means "white shell". I painted this sunset on the beach with a local islander named Maui as he passionately told me Hawaiian folklore stories on a brisk February night.
Every sunset... It's about the journey! Inspired by the aloha I had felt my first visit to the North Shore of O'ahu after 5 years becoming a Hawaiian Destination Specialist with HVCB Hawaii Tourism Authority: Go Hawaii |
